A bottle of rum in the Navy!
Always carry a small gift to a dinner host. A bottle of wine, flowers or small gifts is OK. A map is certainly appropriate.
I want to take a gift, after all, the crowd with a farewell dinner celebration.
I would not be a birthday party without a gift. You should be!
